Map & Directions

Please take a good look at the google map points shown below. They mark the entrance to the dirt road and the Nacarubi ranch itself. You can get directions using the google map itself...at least to the dirt road turn off they seem to be 100% accurate. The following written directions may be a bit more clear: From the N or S on Hwy 1, look for the Nacimiento-Ferguson Rd junction at the Kirk Creek Campground about 40 min south of Big Sur or 10 min north of Gorda. Take Nacimiento Rd East, the only way you can take it, for 6.8mi up to the summit. At the summit you will see two dirt roads. Take a right, south, onto the south coast ridge road towards prewitt, plaskett, and los burros. At the start of the dirt road, reset your odometer. Take the dirt road for 4.4mi and hang a sharp right, as you turn you will see a sign that says prewitt ridgd and alms ridge. Reset Odometer again and go .6mi to the next right turn, you will see a sign here that says rough road/dead end. Reset Odometer again and go .4mi down the road and take the first right down the driveway with the sign: locked gate, no turnaround. Head SLOWLY down the last mile to the site making sure you stay to your right.
